Activities and Events

Below is a list of the activites and events that a run by, or at, our church. If you would like more information on one of these, or are interested in attending, please use the contact form on this website.

Sunday School and Catechism:

Sunday School takes place Sundays during the school year, and has the same holidays. We have classes catering to a wide range of age groups, from new entrants onwards. Older children take part in Catechism classes, learning the fundamentals of Reformed theology, and these classes take place during the week.

Cadets and Gems:

This club, consisting of about 20 8-15 year olds and 5 leaders,  takes place every second Thursday of school terms, from 6:30-8:30pm. With a focus on the community and developing life skills, this provides an opportunity for the children to participate in activities and work on projects. There are also opportunities for local and national level camps as well as club excursions such as sleepovers at Somes Island.

Bible Study:

We have two Bible Study groups, meeting every second Wednesday in the homes of church members. One group meets in Wainuiomata, and the second meets in Lower Hutt. We gather at 7:45pm to study a section of the Word of God, and this is open to anyone with an interest in understanding the Bible.

Ladies Bible Study:

A small group of women, this group meets fortnightly on Wednesday mornings at 9:45 for a Bible study and coffee. In the past, this group has looked at topics such as Women in the Bible, and studied various books of the Bible.

Men’s Breakfast:

Once a month, the men in our congregation meet on a Saturday morning at 8am, for breakfast and a Bible study. One of us cooks for the others, and we discuss what it means to be a godly man. We have looked at topics such as fatherhood, and the life of Solomon.

Three Score and More:

Members of our church community blessed with an abundance of years meet fortnightly on Wednesday afternoons from 2 to 4pm for a time of fellowship, coffee, fun and games.

Holiday Bible Club:

During the first week of the holidays after the end of the second school term, we hold a Holiday Bible Club, for ages 5 to 12. This is open to all members of the community, and is a way for your children to gain an understanding of Christian teaching, and be taken off your hands for four mornings!

Christmas Carols:

Just before Christmas each year, on a Sunday evening, we hold a Carol Service, followed by fellowship over coffee. Visitors from other churches and from in the Wainui community are common, and all are welcome!
